This project is now complete.


Upcoming sewer rising main works in Keelan and Goldsmith streets in East Mackay.

Council will be decommissioning the existing sewer rising main in Keelan Street which is primarily located within private properties. We will be installing a new main in the footpath and road reserve in Keelan and Goldsmith streets.

These works will remove the old main from service, which has had several failures, and provide a new main that has better access for maintenance in the future.

These works are expected to commence Monday, September 26, 2022, and take approximately 8 to10 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Working hours will be between 6.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, and weekends when required.

Traffic control will be in place for the duration of the project, and we ask all motorists to follow site signage.

There will be one full road closure for one weekend on Goldsmith Street to complete works in front of the bus stop. Traffic controls and detours will be in place during this weekend and prior notice will be given for this.

There will be some driveways that will be required to be removed and reinstated during the works, however these residents will be contacted by the supervisor prior to works starting to discuss access requirements.

We will be required to remove one tree on Keelan Street, this tree will be replaced upon completion of the work.

There will be some instances where the verge parking will be unavailable due to construction works, these areas will be barricaded off when this happens.
