Whether you’re a spectator, participant, administrator or creator of arts and cultural content – maybe you’re all of the above – we want to hear from you about how we can foster meaningful, accessible and engaging arts and culture events, programs and spaces in the Mackay region for everyone to experience.

We want your help to envisage a diverse range of arts and culture activities and programs that forge strong connections to place, expressing our stories, cultures, character, and showcasing our talent.

Mackay is increasingly recognised for its vibrant arts and cultural activities. Arts and culture is the means by which we capture imagination, recognise landmarks, start conversations, connect communities, and express creativity, generating a source of pride and identity accessible to all. We are excited to evolve our contribution to arts and culture in the Mackay Region through the development of an Arts & Culture Plan.

Arts and Culture encompasses a diverse range of creative practices and artforms, supported by and delivered across an equally diverse range of platforms – from performance and temporal events to permanent landmarks and programmable spaces, from grass-roots networks to inter/national exchange.
