Update #2 - December 22, 2022

Project update

As of Thursday, December 22, RoadTek have completed the following stage 1 works of the Caneland Station bus interchange project:

  • the removal of the zebra crossing on Mangrove Road and the installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing to improve pedestrian safety in the area
  • closure of the Peel Street exit to Mangrove Road to accommodate the new pedestrian crossing
  • network infrastructure upgrades.

RoadTek will return to Mangrove Road from Monday, January 16, 2023, to complete the remaining stage 1 works: the bus station laydown and landscaping works.

These works will be completed at night to minimise disruption to surrounding businesses.

Traffic control will be in place when required. Please adhere to all roadside signage and instructions.

These works are expected to be completed by February 2023, weather permitting.

Should you have any questions about these works, please contact RoadTek project manager Jethro Cohen on 0427 845 586 or council's project manager Graeme Cox on 1300 MACKAY (622 529).
