Palmer Street water main works

Water main works planned for Palmer Street, North Mackay. These works are essential to the long-term reliability of our water network.

Construction is scheduled to start early February, with survey and preparatory works taking place the week prior. The works are expected to take about 14 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Works will be completed Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, extending to 6pm and weekends if required.

These works will be completed under traffic control with a partial road closure in place and traffic reduced to one lane flow, with detours in place for the closed direction. Please follow all directions and signage.

The works will require some driveways to be removed and then reinstated at the end of the works. Properties directly affected will be contacted by the site supervisor prior to the works to discuss access requirements.

There will be some water interruptions. Affected residents will receive 48 hours’ notice of any water interruptions and every effort will be made to ensure interruptions are scheduled at a time that will have the least impact.

Some noise and dust disturbances may occur with various plant and equipment on site. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate your patience during these essential works.
