Hamilton Street sewer rising main upgrade

Council wishes to advise that the sewer rising main will be upgraded at Hamilton, Graves and Ungerer streets. These works will improve the sewer network. Please refer to map below of the area of works below.

Works will begin on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, weather permitting. The works are expected to be completed late June 2024.

Works will be undertaken from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may also be required.

The work will be undertaken progressively with construction beginning in Ungerer Street followed by Graves Street then move to Hamilton Street.

During the project, traffic control is expected to be in place for one week along Ungerer Street. Minimal traffic delays are expected.

A road closure on Hamilton Street will be in place for one day towards the end of the project.

As the works involve digging a trench within the road reserve in the area of works, driveways on the western side of Graves Street and the northern side of Ungerer Street will need to be removed and reinstated during construction. The site supervisor will be in contact with these residents to discuss their access requirements prior to driveway works commencing.

There will also be some noise and dust disturbances with various plant and equipment on site. To complete the works some minor tree trimming is required. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate your patience during these essential works.
