In 2022, council adopted the St Helen's Beach Local Coastal Plan.

The plan was developed in consultation with the community. Click here to view the plan.

The St Helens Beach coastal unit supports a diverse range of vegetation communities, a regionally-significant shorebird roost, and a range of rare and threatened species including highly specialised and regionally vulnerable mangrove mouse.

The Local Coastal Plan (LCP) has been developed to identify the natural values and issues at St Helens Beach and contains recommended management activities.
