Following extensive community consultation council adopted the Blacks Beach Local Coastal Plan 2017.

The Blacks Beach coastal unit supports rare and threatened species including migratory shorebirds, marine turtles and critically endangered beach scrub vegetation. It is also a popular recreational area for locals and visitors to our region.

A Local Coastal Plan (LCP) has been developed to identify the natural values and issues at Blacks Beach and contains recommended management activities.

  • With a continued focus on our coastlines, Council has developed Coastal Management Guidelines to provide a framework for management decisions and activities for coastal land under council’s jurisdiction. Individual Local Coastal Plans, such as this plan for Blacks Beach, provide site-specific recommendations for individual beach units.

    Council are seeking your feedback on the Draft Local Coastal Plan (LCP) and it's recommended management activities.
