Facelift for Blacks Beach Park

Ramp access to the beach for those with reduced capacity (or no) capacity to walk.

I live on Bourke Street and often visit the park with my two small children. It would make our lives a lot easier and safer if the foot path that was begun in the last round of works could be completed. There are several blind corners on Bourke St where we put our lives in the hands of the usually very considerate local drivers. Visiting drivers, however, would be unfamiliar with the game of Russian Roulette that we and many other residents are forced to play each day we visit the park. I would think that the safety of young pedestrians would be highest on your list of priorities when work commences.

As a local I believe The Camilleri st park in eimeo/blacks beach needs toilets as there isn't any and I believe it would be a great place to hold children's party's and for social interaction but how ever it is lacking that one critical component Amenities

With regards to Blacks Beach All abilities Beach Access Plan, I would hope we see a completed footpath, full length in Bourke Street included in this work program. Many residents and visitors who use the park and beach travel by foot, putting their lives (adults, children, animals, all ages) at risk having to walk on the road as there is no footpath. As a resident of this street we have seen many near misses between vehicles and pedestrians.....I would love to see a footpath included to facilitate the safety of all who use and who will continue to use these facilities.......Do we really have to wait until someone is seriously hurt or worse case DEAD.......lets hope not....Concerned Resident for safety of all.......Cheers Kaylene Cocup

With regard to Blacks Beach Park All Abilities Beach Access plan, I would hope that included in the scope of work planed, that a foot path along the narrow part of Bourke Street is also in the plan. At the present time pedestrians have no option other than to walk on the road. Considering that a very large percentage of the people that use both the park and beach walk there, I would have thought that the foot path would have had a high priority in the plan. Duty of care and safety of pedestrians should be paramount.
