Consultation has concluded
Contractor Seaforth Civil has upgraded 18 bus stops in the Mackay region to improve accessibility.
The works were funded by the Queensland Government's Passenger Transport Accessible Infrastructure Program (PTAIP) and Bus Stop Shelter Program (BSSP).
The works included new concrete slabs, the installation of bus shelters and conversion of existing shelters to double shelters, pram ramps and tactile ground surface indicators.
The bus stops upgraded included:
- Annie Wood Avenue, Mount Pleasant
- Anzac Avenue, Marian
- Bedford Road, Andergrove
- Bourke Street, Blacks Beach
- Bruce Highway, Bakers Creek
- Bucas Drive, Bucasia
- Camilleri Street, Eimeo
- Charles Hodge Avenue, Mount Pleasant
- Downie Avenue, Bucasia (both stops)
- Kippen Street, South Mackay
- Kenilworth Street, South Mackay
- Napier Street, South Mackay (both stops)
- Nebo Road, West Mackay
- Peak Downs Highway, Te Kowai
- Rae Street, East Mackay.
