Cattle Creek Bridge maintenance works (Owens Creek Loop Road)

Mackay Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors Fressinet Australia will be undertaking maintenance works on our behalf. The works will occur at Cattle Creek Bridge (Owens Creek Loop Road), Finch Hatton. These essential works will extend the life of the bridge.

The works will be delivered in four stages, with stage one beginning Monday, January 6, 2025, weather permitting. The project is expected to be completed mid-June, 2025. The hours of work will be Monday to Saturday, 6.30am to 5pm, with no works on public holidays.

Upcoming traffic disruptions:

• Stage 1 – Intermittent traffic control will be in place from Monday, January 6, 2025, to Friday, February 14, 2025, weather permitting. On occasion, delays up to five minutes are expected.
• Stage 2 – Intermittent traffic control will be in place from Monday, February 24, 2025, to Monday, May 6, 2025 weather permitting. On occasion, delays up to five minutes are expected.
• Stage 3 – A full road closure, with detours, will be in place from Tuesday, May 6, 2025 to Monday, May 19, 2025, weather permitting. The additional travel time to and from Finch Hatton Gorge via the detour is about 15 minutes, while going to and from Owens Creek Loop Road is about 20 minutes. • Stage 4 – Intermittent traffic control will be in place from Tuesday, May 20, 2025, to Friday, June 13, 2025, weather permitting. On occasion, delays up to five minutes are expected.

There will be some noise and dust disturbances with various plant and equipment on site.
