Gorge Road upgrade

The final upgrades to Gorge Road are complete.

The road surface has been improved. This will reduce maintenance and the need for continual grading.

The design was developed in conjunction with local residents. This assisted council in determining the sections of road that should be made a priority. The initial plans of providing a bitumen surface in some of these areas was revised to concrete.

Due to a successful funding submission for stage three of the works, this project was proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme and Mackay Regional Council.

Council thanks the community for their patience while these essential works were undertaken.
