The Hospital Bridge fishing pier is now complete and open to the public.

A 15x11-metre L-shape design was installed to replace the fishing pier that was damaged in Cyclone Debbie in 2017. The new design will better withstand impact from debris and increase the structural integrity of the pier for future flood events.

It is also wheelchair accessible and has seating and rod holders for keen fishers.

The works were completed in March 2020.

    An exciting milestone was reached this morning as the concrete slab was poured at the Hospital fishing pier.


    The 15 metre by 15 metre L-shape design is expected to be complete by the end of February (weather permitting). Watch this space!

    We've hooked a specialist civil construction company to build a new fishing platform in the Pioneer River.
    Brisbane company Casa Engineering landed a $1.7 million contract at today’s ordinary meeting of council for construction of the new Hospital Bridge Fishing Pier.
