Mackay Regional Council is aware of the record growth in caravan and recreational vehicle sales and the important contribution the RV industry makes to regional economies. As part of its economic development initiatives, the Council is developing a Strategy to ensure it is catering to the needs of RV travellers. The Mackay Regional Council area stretches over 7,622km² which, in addition to the city of Mackay, covers the Pioneer Valley, beaches, rainforest, townships, and barrier reef islands.
