Construction of the Rotary Lookout is completed. The North Mackay Rotary Lookout Upgrade, a $1.42m project, was jointly funded by Mackay Regional Council and the Queensland Government under the Building Our Regions program.
Located at the top of Pollock Street in North Mackay, this exceptional-looking community facility is a great spot to take in the spectacular views of the Mackay city.
The upgrade includes a directional marker floor design with brass plaques highlighting key visible landmarks and identifying some of the regions ‘hot spots’.
It also includes improved landscaping, seating, drinking facilities, car parking, street lighting and a shade structure that will be illuminated at night.
The Lookout was officially opened in late-January 2021.
