Resources Centre of Excellence - Stage 2 Future Industries Hub

The expansion of the Resources Centre of Excellence (RCOE) is a major investment ensuring Queensland has access to a skilled workforce to capture, incubate and grow the industries of the future.

The expansion of the RCOE began in September 2024.

Stage 2 Future Industries Hub will consist of an administration block and an industrial tenancy adjacent to RCOE Stage 1 at 65 Crichtons Road, Paget.

Fergus Builders have been appointed as contractors and will complete the building construction, along with associated services, civil works, and landscaping.

There will be minimal impact to the surrounding industrial properties during construction. Measures will be put in place to minimise noise and dust disruptions.

Once constructed, the RCOE Future Industries Hub will bring together new industries with the inclusion of a pilot processing plant to support activities around critical minerals, reprocessing of tailings, and other precious metals. It will aim to focus on training and research and development; grow industry connections and partnerships; gain greater exposure to agriculture, sugar and bio futures sectors; and lead technology-based initiatives.

Construction is expected to be completed by late-August 2025, weather permitting.
