The upgrades to Ron Anderson Park are complete.

The park has a new combination play unit, rockers and a tornado swing.

The swing has a 360 degree range of motion and is fitted with a basket style seat so it can be used by multiple users.

The park is located at 26 Absolon Street and has a shade structure so you can use it all year round.

A tribute to Ron
Pompey Street Park was renamed to Ron Anderson Park in 2014 in recognition of Ron Anderson's commitment to the community and his tireless volunteering to assist others in need.

Ron would tell anyone that he was put on this earth for two things: his family and to help anyone else needing assistance. This goal he achieved throughout his life by tirelessly collecting money for foundations and relief programs, participation in club and child safety activities, acts of kindness to assist the ill, underprivileged and members of the community in need.

The Anderson family home is located nearby on Absolon Street, South Mackay.

This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
