Consultation has concluded

On January 11, 2024, council adopted Temporary Local Planning Instrument 01/2023 - Finch Hatton Flood Hazard Regulation.

The temporary local planning instrument (TLPI) will take effect on January 19, 2024, and will be effective for up to two years from the commencement date.

The proposed TLPI is an interim planning response whilst a new flood study is being completed for the area.

The purpose and general effect of the proposed TLPI is to:

  • Identify flood hazard areas in Finch Hatton, and
  • appropriately manage flood risk to ensure development does not result in an intolerable risk to people, property, infrastructure or the environment.

    Council's Strategic Planning team will be at the Finch Hatton Showground Hall on Tuesday, December 12 from 4pm to 6pm to answer your Temporary Local Planning Instrument (TLPI) questions.

    Council is proposing TLPI 01/2023 Finch Hatton Flood Hazard Regulation to ensure flood hazards in Finch Hatton are identified and managed in relation to development.

    The purpose and general effect of the proposed TLPI is to:
