Heavy Vehicle Parking

Following community feedback, council will be installing dedicated heavy vehicle parking in several streets off Nebo Road.

Work will commence in the coming weeks from 6am to 6pm and will be completed by December 2019, weather permitting.

The dedicated parking bays are aimed at reducing congestion in residential streets and improving safety for both motorists and pedestrians.

Parking bays will be installed in the following streets:

  • Bagley
  • Donaldson
  • Duncan
  • Edmonds
  • Lloyd
  • McGinn
  • Smith

Any heavy vehicles that are unable to find parking in these streets or on private property (hotel/motel carparks) are advised to park in Paget Industrial Precinct, South Mackay or at the end of Victoria Street, Mackay CBD (after hours only).

Residents residing in the above streets may encounter some noise and dust disturbance while the work is completed however, appropriate controls will be put in place to minimise the impact. Traffic management will also be in place during these works.
