Project update - October, 2022
Testing the new Koumala Water Treatment Plant
For the next four weeks, council will be testing the performance of the new Koumala Water Treatment Plant.
During this time the team will be switching back and forth between the existing infrastructure and the new plant.
Council expects the transition to be smooth, with minimal impact to residents, however there may be periods of increased water pressure.
Once the testing/commissioning period is completed, the plant will be handed over to council, and residents will be informed when the plant is operational.
Should you have any questions about these works, please contact council's project manager Graeme Cox on 1300 MACKAY (622 529).
The Koumala Water Quality Upgrade is a joint initiative of Mackay Regional Council and the Queensland Government.
