Muller Park playground renewal
The playground in Muller Park was recently closed to the public due to the unsafe condition of the rubber softfall.
The play equipment, which was close to 25 years old and in poor condition, has now been removed.
The area is being transformed into turfed, open space for the community to utilise.
The other amenities in the park including parking, public toilets, barbecues and seating will be open for use while a new playground design is being completed.

Project update: March 21, 2025
Share Project update: March 21, 2025 on Facebook Share Project update: March 21, 2025 on Twitter Share Project update: March 21, 2025 on Linkedin Email Project update: March 21, 2025 linkCouncil is excited to announce that new play equipment will be installed at Muller Park in Ooralea
The announcement comes after the play equipment was removed late last year due to its age and poor condition.
Extensive consultation was undertaken with the community in November 2024, including a community consultation session at Muller Park (Monday, November 4) and an online survey (November 4 to 25), providing the community with an opportunity to choose their favourite play equipment option.
The play equipment options presented to the community were:
- Tower Fun
- Adventure Climb
- Dig Site
- Swing Park
- Ninja Warrior Course
- Jump and Bounce.
Out of the six options, Tower Fun had the most votes during all the community engagement activities.
Tower Fun caters for a wide age range (0-14 years) and offers many types of play that allow kids to play quietly or in a group, be active or imaginative, or enjoy the free space.
Little ones will be able to explore the shaded lower-level areas, while the older kids climb to the top.
Responding to the community’s feedback, council has decided to install the Tower Fun play equipment at Muller Park.
Online feedback also suggested the need for additional fencing around the playground. As a result, the new playground will be fully fenced and feature softfall underfoot.

What’s next? The detailed design is expected to be completed by early next year with construction forecast to commence in the second half of the 2025/2026 financial year.
