Update on Paradise and Webberley streets intersection upgrade

As of December 19, council have completed all the concrete drainage works, the underground services for the project, constructed the footpaths and completed majority of the asphalt works.

Unfortunately, due to contractor availability and wet weather there are still works to be completed on this project including the concrete islands on Paradise Street, the installation of traffic lights and streetlights, landscaping and tree planting.

Works will recommence from Monday, January 6 and are expected to be completed by March 2025, weather permitting.

Please note, the following traffic conditions will be in place:

  • Graffunder Street off Paradise St will be reopened to all traffic.
  • Ulanda Drive and Denton Street at the Paradise Street end will be reopened to traffic. Left entry and exit only.
  • Left entry and exit to Amiet Street from Paradise Street will continue.
  • The intersection at Simpson and Webberley Street will continue to be closed with local traffic access only.
  • The road closure on Webberley Street, Simpson to Paget streets and George Milton Street, will continue with local traffic access only.
  • The parking bays along Paradise Street between Graffunder and Amiet streets will continue to be closed to allow for safe two-way traffic.
  • The temporary bus stops on Paradise Street will continue to operate until the completion of the works.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these works and appreciates your patience during these essential improvement works.
